How To Get Certified

In order to become a certified technician in Georgia, one must attend a GC&PA class and take the exam. The classes are offered on an "on demand" basis. Once GC&PA has received interest from a minimum of 10 people, a class will be scheduled at a location convenient for most of the participants.

Levels of Certification

There are 3 levels of certification: Technician, Installer and Craftsman.

Technician - Technicians are certified by scoring 75% on a written examination.

Installer - Installers are certified by scoring 75% on a written examination, pass a performance evaluation and place a minimum combined total of 10,000 square feet on a minimum of 3 projects.

Craftsman - Craftsmen are certified by scoring 75% on a written examination, possess ACI Flatwork Finisher Certification, and either 1)complete a minimum 1,500 hours work experience and a performance evaluation or 2) complete 3,000 hours work experience.
